43.South Bend Tribune, Dies at 92.Mrs. Sarah Slough, aged 92, died in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nora E. Long, of 3309 Wall Street, at 8 p.m. Tuesday. She was born April 10, 1852, to a pioneer family in St. Joseph County, on a farm on what is now the Miami Road, and was a life-long resident of this vicinity. In 1868 she was marrried to Michael Slough, who operated a saw mill in the county. He died in 1888. She was the last of her family of seven brothers and sisters and the last of the Sough family of 14. Her maiden name was Schmachtenberger. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Long, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Gertrude Williamson, of St. Petersburg, Fla; two granddaughters, Mrs. Esta Kramer, of South Bend, and Mrs. Aneeta Flicker, of Dade City, Fla.; two grandsons, Paul Williamson, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Charles Williamson, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Charles Williamson, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and five great-grandsons, one of whom is Jack Maurice Flicker, serving with the U.S. Navy in the south Pacific. Friends may call in the home of Mrs. Kramer, 309 Haney Avenue, after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted in West Union Church, Miami Road, at 2 p.m. Friday. Rev. Simon Moore, pastor of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ Church, Mishawaka, Rev. R. L. Haley, pastor of the First Evangelical Church, and Rev. Jesse Bellman, pastor of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ Church, of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery.

51.South Bend Tribune, April 11, 1885, Mr. George Schmachtenberger, of Union Township, died last Tuesday, march 31st, aged 28 years, 7 months and 29 days. He was a man of good repute, industrious and wel liked by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and two daughters and five sisters to mourn his loss. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, at the Union Chursh, on the Turkey Creek Road, Rev. Norris officiating.

62.South Bend Tribune, February 25, 1924, Mrs. Maggie DiceMrs. maggie Dice, age 64, wife of the late superintendent of the county infirmary, died Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of her son, Otto Dice, of Chicago, after a nine weeks' illness with typhoid fever. She was born in Union Township, this county, Oct. 14, 1859, and had resided in this vicinity until two years ago. Surviving are the one son in Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Salinda Paige, of North Dakota; Mrs. Sarah Slough, of St. Petersburg, Fla; and Mrs. mary Camel, of Tyner, Ind. The body will be taken to the home of a niece, Mrs. Wesley Van Valin, 1435 South Michigan Street.

Rev. H. H. Helman officiating. Burial will be in Bowman Cemetery.

65.St. Joseph Valley Weekly Register, Wednesday, December 31, 1879, Dice-SchmachtenbergerDoctor Wrightsman received a summons yesterday to the residence of Mr. Isaac Miller, but it was a ceremony in his clerical capacity which he was called upon to perform, Willard F. Dice and Margaret Schmachtenberger desiring to be united in the holy bonds of matrimony. The interesting formality took place at three o'clock, in a manner satisfactory to all concerned. Mr. Dice lives on Turkey Creek Road, ten miles southwest of the city.

66. Mishawaka Enterprise, October 18, 1918, Willard F. DiceWillard F. Dice, of River Park, at one time superintendent of the county infirmary and widely known throughout the county, died Tuesday at the age of 62 years, after a four years' illness of a complication of diseases.
