Clarence
Stafford Bromell
Hi
Liz,
I
set up this page for an easier transfer
of information. If we do find out we're
cousins, I can add it to my genealogy--and
it sure is looking more likely with
every record I find.
First,
I found Clarence
in 1920
Next,
I found his death notice:

I
then found John and "Ezra"

State: KS Year: 1870

I
went to this page and found John, living
with his wife Harriet, and some Lashers--
perhaps Harriet's brother or something.
Two doors away is "Ezra" born
in Wisconsin in 1847,
with his wife Harriet and two children,
John and George. This is a pretty big
coincidence,
since Emory was born in Wisconsin in
1847 and married a woman named Harriet.
I think it's him.
It also fits with info above from Laura
Kersey, that Emory had a son named John
Preston
Bromell by Hattie [however, the birth
date is different for John].

All
my Bromells were from Holsworthy. Here's
what I found about Pancrasweek:
PANCRASWEEK
(or WYKE ST. PANCRAS) is a village and
parish in Holsworthy union, containing,
by the census of 1861, 378 inhabitants,
and 3782 acres ; in the deanery of Holsworthy,
archdeaconry of Barnstaple, hundred
of Black Torrington, diocese of Exeter
; 3 miles north-west from Holsworthy,
and 5 east from Stratton, in Cornwall,
on the east bank of the river Tamar,
which divides it from that county. The
living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage
of Bradworthy, in the incumbency of
the Rev. James Burden Clyde, and the
patronage of the Crown; joint annual
value, £243. The church is an
ancient edifice, dedicated to St. Pancras,
in the Perpendicular style, consisting
of nave, chancel, north transept, and
aisle, with tower containing five bells.
The Wesleyans have a place of worship
here, and there is a Parochial School
for children of both sexes. Sir Charles
Stucley Stucley, Bart., and Earl Stanhope
are the chief landowners.
