OBITUARY: (St. Thomas Daily Times, May 15, 1912, p5)
Died in Detroit. Mrs. Berth M. Watson, wife of James Watson, formerly of this city, died at Detroit Wednesday morning at the age of thirty-one years. The remains will be brought to St. Thomas Wednesday evening and be taken to the residence of deceased's father, H. Rushton, 18 Maple street. Mr. and Mrs. Watson moved to Detroit a year ago last March. Mrs. Watson leaves a son and a daughter, and besides her parents is survived by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Joseph Hawkins, city, Mrs. James Lodge, Cleveland, and Horace of the Pere' Marquette railway.
FUNERAL NOTICE: (St. Thomas Daily Times, May 18, 1912)
THE LATE MRS. WATSON. Funeral on Friday to St. Thomas Cemetery Largely Attended. The funeral of the late Mrs. James Watson, who died in Detroit, took place on Friday afternoon from the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Rushton, 18 Maple street to the St. Thomas cemetery and was largely attended. Rev. O. Elliott conducted services and the P.M. boilermakers and helpers attended in a body, marshalled by P.J. Sharkey. The bearers were: W. Hawkins, John Lane, Stalker Boarth, F. Hawke, J. Lochead and George Clelford. Among the floral tributes were a design from the I.A.O.F.M.; pillows from the P.M. boilermakers and boilermakers' helpers; gates ajar from the Rushton family and a pillow from the Watson family.
The relatives present from out of town were: James Watson and family, Charley Frytag, Hugh Fryies and Harry Howkins of Detroit; Mrs. H. Rushton, Cornwall; Mrs. J. Ellington [sic - Hetherington] and son, Fred, of Brantford, and Mrs. James Lodge and daughter, Violet, of Cleveland.
