THE DEATH OF ALEX WATSON
Well-Known Citizen and Employee of Gas Works for 28 Years Succumbs to Acute Pneumonia
Alex Watson, a widely-known and highly-esteemed resident of St. Thomas, passed away at 11 o'clock this morning at the family residence, No. 49 Inkerman street, after five days' illness from acute pneumonia.
Mr. Watson, who was 67 years of age, was a native of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, but for the past 33 years had resided in St. Thomas. For 28 years he had been connected with the gas works, where he was looked upon as capable and faithful employee.
Mr. Watson is survived by a widow, four daughters and three sons, viz., Mrs. John McGregor, Yarwood street; Mrs. John Wilson, Mable street; Mrs. Harry Brown, Ross street; Miss Edith Watson, of the Anderson Company; Alex and james, of the M.C.R. locomotive department, and John, painter, all of this city. Five sisters and two brothers also survive. Three sisters and two brothers reside in Scotland, and the other two are in Canada. Mrs. William McEwan, of London, and Mrs. Charles Horton, of Toronto.
Mr. Watson was a member of the C.O.O.F. He was a Presbyterian in religion.
The funeral takes place on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock to the St. Thomas cemetery.

Late Alexander Watson, Who Died Today, Was Well Known Citizen
The death of Alexander Watson, an old and respected resident of this city, took place at 11 o'clock this morning at his late residence, 49 Inkerman St., after a five days' illness from acute pneumonia.
The deceased was a resident of this city for 33 years, and was a valued employe of the Light, Heat and Power plant for 28 years. He also worked for a short time in the M.C.R.shops.
He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, 67 years ago.
Besides his widow, he leaves four daughters and three sons, Mrs. John McGregor, Mrs. John Wilson, Mrs. Harry Brown, and Miss Edith, all at home; also Alexander and James, of the locomotive department of the M.C.R., and John, painter, all of this city. Mrs. C. Hunter, Toronto, and Mrs. W. McEwen, London, are sisters; also three sisters and two brothers survive him in Scotland. He was a member of Alma St. Presbyterian Church, and a member of the C.O.O.F.
The funeral will be held Thursday, at 3 p.m. to the St. Thomas cemetery.
